But this connection shouldn’t always translate to nothing more than perfunctory tweets and texts. For the sake of expediency, those methods of communication are valuable, but meeting face-to-face can go a long way toward establishing a connection with journalists.

Grabbing coffee, lunch or a drink after work to put faces with names and to humanize a connection is a great way to establish rapport.
